Browsing in Sims

First bit of great news that I had been waiting for a few weeks to announce: the people who make The Sims love our show! They’ve created a playlist of our episodes and shared it on their Facebook page. We couldn’t be more grateful! It’s helped bring a new group of Simmers to our YouTube channeland we’re all giddy from the positive feedback. Thanks EA/Maxis! <3

Second bit of fun news: We’ll be streaming a Questions & Answers Google Hangout Live on YouTube, Monday, April 8th at 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time! All Kickstarter Backers are invited to join. Simple message me your email address and I will invite you to the hangout. To keep things from getting too crazy, I will have to mute everyone most of the time until we’re ready for the next question.

If you just want to watch us live on Youtube (instead of joining the Hangout), be sure to follow us on Twitter. We will post the URL of the live video as soon as we’re up.

If you can’t make it, please post your questions or comments here on Kickstarter or on any of our The Real Sims videos. We’ll pick out the best ones to answer. See you Monday night! Remember, episode 5 of The Real Sims premieres Tuesday, April 16th.

It has been a blast writing and directing this webseries show. I must say my favorite part is all the fun feedback I am hearing from fans of the game. A lot of Simmers out there. Woohoo (not to be confused with WooHoo)! One of our crew members, Adam Anderson edited this great piece chronicling the making of the first few episodes of the show. It’s called Gnome means Gnome. Silliness abounds!

Naughty behavior abounds in the fourth installment of my latest webseries, The Real Sims. What is the shady maid up to? Who is cheating on whom!? I’ve really been enjoying directing this show. Enjoy.

Gamer starlet, Jess Brohard makes her show debut in this episode where she meets Jeff for the first time. The shady maid is not amused. Parts of this episode were actually shot for the “pilot” Kickstarter pitch. I actually went back and filmed “pickup” shots to piece the whole living room scene together.

Please help us SPREAD THE WORD with these easy links:

Be sure to follow Kill9 on Facebook and Twitter for updates on upcoming web series episodes and sketches.

Your weekly dose of a live-action soap opera based on The Sims! This episode was edited by Adam Anderson. Thanks, Adam!

Thanks to all 51 of our Kickstarter backers for helping make this happen. We couldn’t have done it without you. <3 <3 <3 Please watch and enjoy:

Thank you to those that joined our Google Hangout last Saturday and to those that peeked in on the live stream on our YouTube channel. It was so fun to share 8 hours (over two streams) of our production with you all. If you want to see a bit, here is a link to a funny little portion of the first feed.

So, if you didn’t notice, we made it to our last stretch goal! At this point, any additional money earned will go toour new animator, Jason Adams who is working on an opening intro and additional funds go to
a music budget. So please keep spreading the word. Any money we raise will make an even better final product.

To those who made the $50 pledge, we already worked a couple of people’s names into the episode 6 script. Maybe you will notice it in the second feed from Saturday. Thanks again for all your support, guys. We’re almost to the finish line!

P.S. - To celebrate the end of fundraising, I plan to release a “making of the birthday cake” video toward the end of the work week. So keep your eyes peeled!

Funded, baby! Vadish! New stretch goals.

Update #2 · Jan. 29, 2013

Dear Kickstarters, When I started this campaign, I was nervous. I didn’t know who, if anyone, would get behind my project. Boy, was I surprised by the amazing community that came behind this webseries. Thank you to all those who sent me really inspiring messages and comments. It means a lot to me as a filmmaker. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who pledged and got us to 101% funding!

Since we have 17 days left in this campaign, I’m adding some great new stretch goals:

  • $1000 - Special screening of the entire series when it’s completed. We will film a Q&A with the cast and crew at this event and include questions from our backers. We will post highlights to  our YouTube channel, but the complete, unabridged Q&A will be exclusive to the DVD! Also, if you’re in Southern California, you get free admission to the screening (yes, there will be food).
  • $1750 - I can actually pay all the amazing volunteer actors and crew for donating their talent, time and skills to the project. It won’t be much, but it will cover gas and maybe buy them a sammich. People are giving up their weekends to work on this project and it would be so wonderful to compensate them a little bit. As a “thank you” to our backers, if we hit $1750 we will broadcast the entire screening and Q&A event LIVE! All backers will be invited to a  Google Hangout on Air and be able to interact with actors and crew at the event all night. The video will be broadcast on our channel.

I will be posting a new video soon announcing a few cool rewards and I will answer some questions, so feel free to post any here, on our  YouTube channel, on TwitterFacebook, wherever! Litzergam! Michelle Osorio twitter.com/michellekenobi
