Huzzah! Check out the debut of our web mini-series, Boomer’s Day Off on YouTube HD! Rocco from Nerd of Steel did an amazing job relaunching our awesome new website as well where you can see the video, check out production stills and interact with the cast/crew. Thanks so much, Rocco. You were so fun to work with.
P.S. - I stole this picture from him. Sorry/thanks, Rocco! <3

This is my attempt to embed the “higher quality” version of one of my videos. I’d do the full 720, but it doesn’t fit this page, so I’m resizing width to 400.

Whilst Googling up a storm looking for local SCA events that could have the nice battle “look” that will work for this HD project, I ran into this. A backyard recreation of Diagon Alley from the Harry Potter books. Ha!

Hey guys. It’s me again with another interesting opportunity.
I’ve been hired to put together a 3-5 minute HD video project. I am looking for a dance group, fashion show, medieval reenactment group, ANYTHING that is a short, colorful performance with lots of movement in an outdoor setting or in a theater setting.
I wouldn’t be able to pay much (Maybe $500-1000), but in return you’d basically get a free video in very high quality HD. Those of you who know me know I own an HVX200, which is a very nice camera. However, for this project I’d be using the new RED camera which is a revolutionary new high resolution technology. I will have a professional camera crew and the footage would be shown at trade shows around the world.
I am hoping to hire a local artist who wants to capture his/her/their performance in high quality video, but can’t afford to hire a producer/director. Everyone walks away with awesome footage, you get some dough and everyone wins. If you have something colorful and interesting, please contact me. You can leave your email in the field below (it won’t show publicly) and I will get back to you. I will need pictures or video to preview your work.
I am hoping to shoot this around November or December. Thanks.

Director of Spaced (best Brit sitcom evar), Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
Comic-Con was a blast, but the Con partying (X-Sanguin pics below) coupled with partying in London and Amsterdam, added to the jet lag and I am seriously exhausted. Tuesday night my actor-director lab in L.A. with Judy Weston starts so I better shape up and start getting some sleep and decent food in me.

In case you didn’t know, I posted a brief update in the news section of the ./shutdown site to let everyone know we are still on for Season 2 of the web series. Unfortunately we’re running into technical difficulties on the site. We’ve hired a group of awesome guys (fans of the show, actually) to completely overhaul the site. Once it is complete we will have a full community for you to take part in as you follow our characters through the second year of storyline. Stay tuned!

Gondry=genius. Once you’ve seen the original trailer for his upcoming movie, Be Kind Rewind, then watch this remake he created himself.

Hip hop hooray, hoes! ./shutdown season 1 has hit 1 million views! ($%()$#QVU()#$&^.
Our spotlight on the front of Stage6 hasincreased our numbers significantly. Thanks, Stage6! So far our most
popular videos are episode 7: DDR Hero part 4 at over 500,000 and episode 3: Drastic Measures part 1 at 250,000 views.
Don’t forget to watch the first half of the season finale. Part 2, the conclusion premieres in just a few days. David is hard at work at the editing bench churning that out for y’all.
Thanks for watching the show and contributing to our growing success!

It’s weird. I’m 26 and once again I’m back in school after taking a break during the Summer and Fall of 2007 to begin production on the ./shutdown web series. Now, I am enrolled in yet another mass media class (my 3rd now) at Penn State and I will be taking my third (and final!) Spanish class at a local community college. Just got confirmation from Penn that it will transfer. w00t!
It’ll be another couple of years before I graduate, I think. I am only taking two classes per semester, but I am really worried about whether I will be able to pull it off. Right now with just one online class at Penn and a full time job I’m only having to stay up about an hour later. However, starting next week I will be going to my Spanish class two evenings a week. In February, David and I will start writing season 2 of the show and then in March we’ll be starting production again.
I am dreading March and April the most. I honestly don’t know if I will be able to handle two full time jobs plus school part-time. I consider the show a full time job since production time means editing every night and shooting almost every weekend. Yet, at the same time I am very frustrated that I can’t handle school full time anymore. I am really in a rush now that I have decided I want to go to graduate school.
Ah well. Take it one day at a time, as they say.
