Saw a bee get attacked by a Black Widow today. Guess who won? I still shudder at the memory. Here’s a pic I took with my G1 (the full image and the crop).

That’s crazy! We get black widows all the time at work but I’ve never seen one catch anything.

Yeah. It was a pretty exciting battle, but I had to get really close to a bunch of buzzing bees to get this shot. I hope you appreciate that.

Sure we do :). Will you tell us the secret, who won ;P?

Loonatic. The spider won. The poor bee didn’t have a chance. The Black Widow came up from beneath so the bee wouldn’t have been able to sting it, even if it could move, which is barely could.

I just saw this phenomenon today! I heard a buzz sound for at least 30 min. while cleaning outside. I went over to the rock wall to check it out, I saw a bee ( one of those big ones) and a black widow trying to spin it around in a web. The bee was stuck but still trying to fly away. it took a long time to free it with a stick but it finally flew away. The weirdest scene. Cool pic by the way, I should have done that. The bee was bigger than the full grown black widow
