so this just happened to me on my gmail account. I was a bit suspicious when they said really silly, so I copied the text into google, found your blog, copied the rest of your conversation in, and then sent it to the person in the chat.
they went all “LOL that isn’t me”. I expressed that i didn’t know anyone who used lol as much as them and disabled the chat… totally weird eh?

OK SO WEIRD I am a high school student in CT and this person had this exact same conversation with me and i almost did it and then googled it just to see if anyone reported somethign and this came right up.. so creepy there is no way this person could have gotten my name from anything that has to do with colleges

I actually had someone contact me using this EXACT SAME STORY just today. While they were trying to get me all the information about the photos they “needed”, I started Googling the e-mail address and the context of the conversation, and found your website. I believe that the person is also using a fake FB page under the name ASHLEY WILLIAMS. I was contacted via the e-mail address jenand2345@gmail.com . I have reported the FB page to the admin, and have blocked the Gmail address from my G-chat.

It’s happened to me with 2 different gchat names and over a year apart. Initially, I just thought it was a friend messing with me, but never went through with it ’cause it was just too weird. No one does an assignment like this. The last few times I’ve decided to play along to see what kind of pictures they wanted.

i’ve been contacted by the same gmail address that cindylu mentioned, ldavis249. this person contacted me under the guise of a casting agent and asked me for the same sort of photos (of feet!). this person also claimed that a colleague, emily, added my promotional facebook page (never got a friend request from said emily). @_@
