Woohoo. Jason E. and Micah at DivX just pushed the new English DivX Connected site. It features the video I’ve been working on for weeks (in several languages). Check it out at the DivX Connected website!
HD and standard definition versios will release on the Stage6 DivX Connected Channel sometime next week. Keep an eye out for the German and French versions as well. They are in post stages. I’ve never made a video in three languages before. It was alot of fun and I want to thank the wonderful actors Joshua Covington, Sara Jane Nash, Sandra Favero and Tamee Harrison for the wonderful job they did. If you missed them, here are some production stills.
The awesome designer/composer/programmer team of Justin, Jeffrey, Jason E. and Micah at DivX were behind the graphics, music and web presence you see at the site. The scripts were written by Solange and Brigit, and reviewed/edited by Sebastian, Matthias, Ronja, Brenda and others. Peace out.

Café just randomly sent me this. Somewhat NSFW.
In other news, I have gotten back into my daily exercise regimen. Today was such a nice day. Cloudy and warm. The walk, coupled with my hallucination/dream-inducing acupuncture session this morning have made me feel really good today. The back isn’t bothering much, thankfully.

Guilty pleasure. I loved Enchanted! Predictable, but hilarious. Even for a cynic like me.

So I busted ass at work this week to make a deadline for a commercial. Marketing had alot more changes they want made to it though so they extended the deadline to next week, so more late nights for me!
I don’t mind, really. I love my job and want the final piece to be something I can be proud of. The only problem is that since the 5-day editing session to release ./shutdown episode 3, part 1 I’ve been having this back ache. I had too much caffeine one night after only 3 hours of sleep in two days. All of a sudden the small ache in my back became searing pain. I had to end that night early. That was weeks ago.
It came back last Wednesday night at work at about 11:30pm. I had to get picked up and taken home from the pain. So then I was okay again and figured it was just stress and I needed more sleep. So Thursday and Friday I followed my long works days up with late ./shutdown nights preparing for the shoot, but I made sure to get at least 6 hours of sleep each night. Then I got up at 5:30am on Saturday and prepped for our big shoot.
I shot handheld for 8 hours which made me very sore, but no big deal. The shoot was lots of fun. You’ll meet some really fun new characters that I hope you will like. Some of them surprised even me with how funny they were. Especially Buz and Liz. I’m also going to steal the red wallet chain we got for Roger. That thing is sexy. Not sure how sexy it will look on me though.
That night, I prepared my shotlist for the Sunday shoot. Sunday we reserved Office Games before it opened from 6am to 10am. So Saturday night I went to sleep at 9:30pm. I woke up at 2am and the back pain attack struck again! Okay, so I guess resting doesn’t help…
I wanted to vomit from the pain spreading to my stomach. I finally managed to get to sleep and we made it to the mall parking lot about ten minutes late 6:10. Well… an hour and a half later, the thing was a wash. A dozen shutdown cast/crew waited in the freezing parking lot and no one showed up.
Cris, our producer, called David (other producer/writer) and said the owner said the employee showed up and didn’t see us. That’s B.S. There was no one in the store, it was locked and we were in front of it at the mall. Ugh it sucked.
Anyhoo, the bright side is we all had a very humorous breakfast at Denny’s together. JJ, our occasional sound-guy was there to play the role of Office Games employee. He is the funniest mofo on the planet. We should make a show just about him complaining about things.
After that we went to Starbucks so this girl could interview us for her magazine design project at school. Then I went home and continued reading Chainfire in between bouts of sleep.
Then I went and bought an HDTV and surround sound speakers. Zesquishmitten came over and helped put it together with Flounder. Good stuff. So here I am, feeling decent. The back pain is gone for now, but my shoulders still hurt from the 8-hour handheld camera session.
I researched my back pain and some possibly suspects are a) ulcer, b) pancreatitis (yikes!) or c) kidney problems.
I’ve lived my life fit as a fiddle. The only real chronic problem I have is clammy hands. So I am pretty pissed that I may have some ailment of this nature. Well, I’m 26. I guess it was bound to start sometime. I plan to make an appt. with my Dr. on Tuesday.
Here’s hoping! I am still enjoying myself and feeling lucky to be aware I am living in the best years of my life right now. However, each time this back and stomach pain coes rushing back, nothing else exists. I have this singularly focus on the pain. Sometimes I embrace the pain and don’t fight it. Then it’s not so bad. I need to nip it in the bud quickly though. Hope it’s nothing serious.
