Archived from my old Xanga blog:
So, after three and a half excruciating weeks, I was telephoned with an invitation to the second round of auditions for the Dolphin Show. For those who don’t know, I auditioned last month, reading a monologue and playing one song on the guitar which I sang along to.
The Dolphin Show Host sings/plays songs for the preshow and then becomes the narrator of the actual show. The DSH does *not* get in the water with the dolphins. It pays nearly twice as much as my current job running sound for these Sea World shows, but the work is not as stable.
We’ll see. I am very excited about the callback. I am really proud just to have gotten this far. Three months ago, I couldn’t even play a single song on the ol’ guitar… However, I practiced like crazy.
Other cool stuff has happened that makes me feel accomplished, but I am not going to go on and on. On a grimmer note, my neck has been killing me. The Dr. is going to re-examine me next Thursday to see what’s wrong. I’ve been healing from the car accident, but maybe it’s the weather that’s been keeping me achy. I am getting really frustrated feeling like this. It makes me feel old. I also can’t work out very hard or do any upper body work…
I also got a fever and then later some sort of horrid food poisoning in the past month. Not cool for someone who is usually NEVER sick. I think it’s from my attempt at eating meat again… Hmmm…
Ah well. Things are good though despite the pain I have to deal with. I met someone who is so cool… I am being a little guarded, but who knows what may come of it.
I will be so ecstatic if I become a Dolphin Show Host like Sean.
